| Bio: | This journal is a Role Playing Journal. The character of Mark Cohen does not belong to me, he and everything else to do with RENT belongs to Jonathan Larson, and others far richer than me... E-Mail: n.buckbeakbabie@hotmail.com Fandom: RENT, the musical. Character: Mark Cohen Description: Blonde hair, glasses, short a bit on the geeky side. Okay, very much on the geeky side. Wardrobe is also typical geek chic: stripy sweaters, plain pants/jeans, and during colder months, he almost always wears his blue and white scarf. His camera may as well count as a part of his wardrobe, as he's rarely without it. Important Personality Traits: Mark is a filmmaker. At least he wants to be. He is semi-successful at it, having worked on the prime time show 'Buzzline' briefly, but quit because it wasn't his style. He's completed several movies of his own, but the one he's most proud of is a documentary, 'Today 4 U' about him and his friends, which he has just completed. Canon Facts: Mark lives with his best friend, Roger, and now Roger's girlfriend, Mimi, in a loft apartment in New York's Alphabet City, home of starving artists, homeless, drug addicts, and other people on the fringe of society. They used to share the apartment with Collins, Benny, and Maureen. He is one of the few people in his circle of friends who isn't HIV positive: Mimi, Roger, and Collins all have the disease, and Collins' partner Angel died from it a few months ago. Her death was one of the events that propelled him to finish his documentary. Collins is a sometimes-academic, flopping between jobs at MIT and NYU. Benny bought the building, promised them they could live rent-free, a promise he attempted to renege on last year. Maureen. *Mark sighs, audibly* Maureen is Mark's ex. She is high-strung, high-maintenance, and highly addictive. She cheated on Mark more than once, before eventually leaving him for a lawyer named Joanne, with whom she has a turbulent on-off relationship. Mark still has strong feelings for her, though he tries his best not to focus on them, and certainly knows another relationship with her would be a Bad Idea. Mark in the game will be lifted from his timeline about a week after the finale of the musical: sometime after New Years Day. Mimi is staying in the Loft, she's still sick. Doing a lot better than Christmas Eve, but they all know she doesn't have much longer. She's staying with them, rather than going to a hospital.
